I am excited that the Irish Internet Association's Annual Congress is coming up in a few weeks. The overall focus of this year's event is "Better Business Online in a Tough Economy: Money, Marketing, Monitoring & Mobile"; really a combination of subjects that we have all been talking about and thinking about in regards our businessess.
The IIA have put together a good selection of main speakers:
- Colm Lyon - Managing Director of Realex Payments
- Trey Harvin - CEO, dotMobi
- Ronan Harris - Online Sales & Operations Director, Google
- Colm Long - Director of Online Operations, Facebook
- Online Marketing: Video & Search
- Protect Your Brand Globally
- Leverage Your Networks to Save Money
- Reduce costs, increase revenues with effective eBusiness
- Social Media and Networking
- Mobilise Your Website
- User Experience: Conversions and Conversion Analysis
Of course one of the best parts is just mingling with people that you haven't seen since the last Annual Congress. There should be a good crowd this year as the Irish Internet community seems to have been brought closer together through some active social networking; like Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook. I'm particuarly looking forward to finally meeting Michele Neylon!
In Ireland, particulary in web related businesses, so many of us are working in a kind of isolation; in small businesses and/or rural locations and this is the one time of year that everyone gathers to compare notes and find out what's new in other parts of the country and other areas of the industry.
Hope to see you there. ROAD TRIP!

Also just noticed they are giving 3 months free membership to IIA for those that attend the event! May be a good way to see if it suits you!
